TatukGIS has recently added support for the OGR (http://www.gdal.org/ogr/) and GDAL (http://www.gdal.org/) mapping libraries to the TatukGIS software line up.
OGR stands for "OpenGIS Simple Features Reference Implementation" and is a popular, free, and open source GIS vector layer library. GDAL stands for "Geospatial Data Abstraction Library" and is a popular, free, and open source GIS raster layer library.
The OGR mapping library supports the following vector layer formats:

When attempting to open a GIS format supported by OGR or GDAL, TatukGIS software will first attempt to use its own internal libraries before it uses OGR or GDAL. However, TatukGIS software can also be instructed to preferentially use OGR or GDAL instead of the TatukGIS internal libraries. (For more details, please see this link: http://www.tatukgis.com/Blogs/General/May-2010/Opening-layers-with-GDAL---OGR-library.aspx)
With the addition of OGR and GDAL library support TatukGIS software can now be used with practically all GIS layer formats on earth!
Combine this flexibility with the fast and powerful map display and rich GIS feature set of TatukGIS software along with the ease of use and customizability of TatukGIS software and it's easy to see why so many top companies are choosing TatukGIS.
