Swedish company Skogsägarplan AB recently released the 2014 version of
its forest management software, developed with the TatukGIS Developer
Kernel (DK) .NET edition by IT and technology services provider Sogeti
Sweden. The Skogsägarplan forest management solution consists of three
applications:
-
Web application.
-
Responsive Windows application that runs on PC and handheld Windows devices.
-
Back-end service that serves data and GIS operations via REST/WMS/WFS
and .NET Web Services to front-end iOS apps and an external web
application.
The key features of the Skogsägarplan software are forest planning, inventory
collection with live GPS, and forest simulation with integration to Web Map Services and Web Feature Services with a RESTLESS
API.
With this information a forest owner can simulate different
scenarios to determine which treatment is best for a forest and when
actions are to be performed, and to get a full representative
GIS overview of the current and future state of the forest.
With its smooth
support for PC users, iPAD users, and users of any operating system with
a web browser, Skogsägarplan is the perfect tool for forest management
planning.
